First Things First

You can go to our home page anytime by typing the following into your browser: booktopia.com.ph If you leave the home page and have started visiting other pages on our site, you can go back home by just clicking on our logo at the top of each page or on the descriptive text right below it.

On the left side (or if one day we feel like it, on the right) is a narrow area called the sidebar. This is where you will see our links and menus. The sidebar has three main sections:

Articles

Archives

More about these later in a while.

The site is mostly made up of articles or since this site has taken on the form of a blog or web log, a post. An article or post is usually about new books, upcoming titles, or our staff’s favorites. It can also be about events or book-related news. That is a lot of information when put together so the trick to getting the most of this site is finding the right information.

Finding the Article You Want

Let’s look go back to the sidebar.

The Store Pages section has links to web pages about our store (just like this one you are reading), our site, or our services. So this is where you go if you want to learn more about Booktopia. Information in the Store Pages section does not change as much as those in the Lists or Archives sections and new pages are not added as often.

The Articles section has links to lists of articles. When an article is created it is assigned to one or more lists (which makes the lists not mutually exclusive). This makes looking for the article you want easier. Some of the lists you can browse are:

Pick of the Week - Books we like and books we think you should know about.

The Other Bestseller - More-than-the-usual books you may not find on bestseller lists but for some reason (and a good reason it is) are bestselling titles at our store.

For Young Readers - Books for young readers we think deserve to be highlighted.

Book News - News on books, authors, and publishing from around the world.

Other Articles - Events, reviews, announcements, or anything else of interest.

The Archives section has links to monthly collections of our articles. When an article is created, it is given a timestamp or the date and time it was created. All articles in the Articles section can also be found in the Archives section, but this time they are arranged chronologically.

The latest articles are usually listed in our home page in descending chronological order. So if you visit our site regularly, our home page is always a good place to start.

If you still need help finding an article, then use our Search Box. Our search feature will look for the text you enter in the box in articles in the Articles and Archives sections.

Other Areas of Interest

Above the Search Box is an area that contains important current information. It may have different headings, but most of the time, this important current information will be under the heading Announcements. An example of important current information is our next shipping schedule.

There is a link to RSS downloads of our articles at the bottom of every page. If you like it, please use it. To learn more about RSS, visit this article on Wikipedia.

Updates to This Site

Updates are made to this site every few days and weekly summaries are sent out by e-mail, usually on Monday nights. If you would like to be notified when updates are made to the site, subscribe.
