J. K. Rowling will never say if Snape is evil or not.  Snape makes like difficult for Harry and bears a grudge against Harry’s father. Yet Dumbledore said in the 5th book that he trusts Snape.  What do you think?  Is he evil or not?  Why?

J. K. Rowling has said that the last word of the last novel is “scar.”  Give us your best guess.  What do you think that last sentence looks like?

She has also said that two characters will die in the last book.  Who do you think these characters are?

Not evil.  Snape had to do it, he had an unbreakable vow with Narcissa to protect Draco.  He’s fighting for the light.

And as he smiled, his forehead shimmered with his fading scar.

Harry and quite probably Neville.  Poor kids.

I think he’s good because maybe Albus meant “Please kill me” when he said his last words to Snape and since everyone was mad at him for killing Albus, which I think was his plan, he had to run for it and join Voldemort to continue pretending that he supports him.

Maybe something about everything Harry experienced started with a scar.

Hermione & Ron, so Harry will get really mad & have enough anger to kill Voldemort.

Not.  But then the depth of characters in HP can’t be easily categorized as good or evil.  I guess the true depth of Snape’s character may be explained when I get to know what Dumbledore meant when he said in Book 6: “Please, Severus.”  That “please” is the ultimate piece of the puzzle.

At one time or another, people thought of it as either a blessing or a curse but to Harry, after 17 years, the only thing he could finally appreciate was the disappearance of his scar.
